The Story of 

In 2020, John Wright founded Buzzard Binding, a side business to the already thriving Carpets and Flooring by John Wright.  John is a veteran within the carpets and flooring industry, installing carpets and floors across the United Kingdom for over 30 years whilst obtaining some of the most revered and sought after qualifications within his field. John now splits his time between running his showroom and Buzzard Binding alongside his long-time partner, Tracey, another industry veteran with over 25 years of service within the flooring industry. John saw a large gap within the market for quality carpet edging services within Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Local companies average a 4-6 week turnaround on carpet edging, leaving many installers and retailers in an awkward position, potentially losing customers and risking a bad reputation. We seek to change that, providing a 1-2 week turnaround whilst maintaining a strict level of quality and standards. Buzzard Binding only uses the very best in materials and manufacturing equipment to achieve our signature finish from Karpet King, Juki, Jack, Singer, Jaspa Woven Binding Tapes, Axminster Wools and more.

The field of carpet edging resonates close to home as John's father, Derek was a British Army veteran and after his service obtained a job as an upholsterer joining Rolls Royce in North London as a coachtrimmer and in his time there contributed to vehicles utilised by many great British figures and celebrities; including some of vehicles owned by the late, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. As a young man, John learned many skills under his father's tuition, operating a wide range of sewing machines, fabric tools and more, in turn inspiring him to take up the field of carpet and flooring installation in his late teens.

We operate out of the 240sqm Carpets and Flooring by John Wright showroom within the heart of Leighton Buzzard's High Street. Our workshop and carpet edging showroom covers over 80 square metres stocking a large selection of whipping yarns, binding tape and stair rod sampling. We also have mats and rugs ready made to purchase within our store at anytime.
